Here, Ellen rides Tvauri forward and sideways in approximately equal measures, while keeping his body parallel to the long sides of the arena; his forehand is correctly slightly in advance of his hindquarters.

The aids to leg-yield from left to right are as follows: weight your right seatbone slightly more than the left one. Your left leg should be at the girth pushing your horse into the right rein, while your right leg rests neutrally on the horse’s side. Your left rein is used to supple the horse.

  1. There was not a lot of video, and no narrative explanation of what the rider was doing and whether it was working. The horse and rider were too far away – heading away from the camera.
